Lake Shenandoah -
Massanetta Springs Road (Rt.687)

A 36 acre impoundment owned by the Department of Game and Inland Fisheries. The lake is located in Rockingham County near the City of Harrisonburg. Lake Shenandoah lies a few miles east of Harrisonburg in Rockingham County. To get to the lake, take Rt. 33 east out of Harrisonburg, then go south on Rt. 687 to the lake.

Silver Lake is shallow, spring fed, 10-acres that is stocked with trout; but also has some largemouth bass, sunfish, and carp. A trout license is required to fish these waters from October 1 through June 15. There are no facilities, but parking and bank access are ample. Amazing variety of flora and fauna exist and you will find rare migratory birds, fishing bald eagles and osprey to resident mute swans, duck and geese.
